Alaska will be in the GOP presidential candidate's hands pretty easily next year, but the same will not be said for Alaska senator Ted Stevens, who is currently held up by scandal. There is a large chance for retirement, which would push this more closely to the GOP side, but as long as he is in the race, expect things to be competitive. There is also expected to be a close race in the house this year, as Don Young, who would be seeking his 19th term, may retire.
